The Puff of Smoke!!

Emerging from within…
I get liberated…
In the process liberating others
From what I don’t know!!
Who am I?

I am the lifeline,
I am the devil,
For those beyond my grasp,
I am the ‘Passive Evil’!!
Who am I?

I sympathize with the defeated,
I intoxicate the victorious,
I give company even in solitude,
I am relentless!!
Who am I?

I represent a moral dilemma,
I represent an independent choice,
To be or not to be is the question,
What says your inner voice?
Who am I?

I was never ever fashionable,
Nor was I ever more chic!!
Sometimes I am nebulous and esoteric,
At times I am clear and simple!!
Who am I?

I am the companion,
I am the servant,
I AM THE MASTER!!
I don various hats!!!
Who am I?

I am the rebel without a cause,
I am the dominating vice,
The virtuous tag shies from me,
I pray I don’t know why!!!
I am thy very humble…

Occasion – This poem is a result of my observation of people, whom I have known from very close quarters and who have been indulging in smoking!! On a personal note I would add that I don’t promote smokers or smoking, for that matter!!

फिर वही बात

फिर   वही पन्ने दोहरा रहा हूँ  जहाँ से था चला वापिस वहीं आ रहा हूँ  मेरे गुनाहों की फेहरिस्त है बहुत लम्बी  इनके बोझ तले दबा जा रहा हूँ  जाने किस बात की है जल्दी जाने कैसी है छटपटाहट  के तुम मिलो इसी मोड़ पर, अभी  क्या है ये तुम्हारे कदमो की आहट  जल्दी इस बात की है कि ये घाव भर जाए  ये रात  छटे और नई सुबह रौशन हो जाए  इस ख्वाहिश में भी खुदगर्ज़ी की इंतहा देखो  जैसे मरहम का असर भी मेरे कहने से हो जाए ये दर्द तुम्हारा रिस सा रहा है अभी  गुज़रे कल का ज़ख्म है, फिर भी हरा है अभी  वक़्त का मरहम चढ़ा तो है, लेकिन क्या करें  ज़ख्म देने वाला सबसे अपना था कभी  अपना अपना करते करते, अपनों को ताक पर रख दिया  रिश्तों में आई दरारों को और भी गहरा कर दिया  खुद हुआ शर्मसार, अपने सगे हुए शर्मिंदा  अब खोजता हूँ मायने हर वक़्त, जिनसे रहूँ मैं ज़िंदा  आजकल अक्सर खुद से ही हार जाता हूँ  चाह कर भी उसकी आँखों में मंज़ूरी नहीं पाता हूँ  उसे अपना बनाकर प्यार करने में डर  लगता है  पहले ही बहुत हार चु...
